Research activities and skills

Development of biorefineries based on microbial cell factories and residual biomasses for the production of fine and bulk chemicals, such as carotenoids. Industrial biotechnology, microbial biotechnology, yeast fermentation, enzymatic hydrolysis of lignocellulosic biomasses, metabolic engineering and genetic modification, biomaterials, bioprospecting, waste valorization, bioeconomy. Science communication and outreach activities.
