Research activities and skills
His researches has focused on the history of transportation and trade, along with the history of the public industry in Italy during the twentieth century, considering the economic, but also the political and social aspects of the subjects studied. The overall results of these surveys may be considered as a contribution to understand the mechanisms of international integration of regional economic systems. He is currently studying the evolution of the long-distance international mobility system after the introduction of mechanical transport systems, in particular the systems of conveyance of foodstuffs.
